Gündogan

Gündogan .. a nice and interesting place
Gündogan, once known as Farilyais located on the north of the Bodrum Peninsula and 18 km from Bodrum town, is one of the least known holiday resorts on the peninsula.

Gündogan is one of the best preserved corners of the Bodrum peninsula. It has a nice beach and ideal for swimming, windsurfing and diving. With its tangerine and olive trees and cool breezes, Gundogan is a very nice place to visit.

Gündogan is just half an hour away from Bodrum city center by minibus (dolmus). It is covered with colorful flowers all year round.
A few minutes drive east of Yalikavak takes one to the secluded village by name, Gündogan. The village was formerly an important fishing center, today consists village's main income from agriculture and tourism.

The village itself is small and quiet with clean and nice beaches. Coffee shops and small restaurants offering local cuisine and offers an authentic atmosphere.

Cozy place with seaside restaurants and harmonious environment
The old and also the new settlers have protected the character of the place, they have not touched the houses surrounded with trees of mandarins, olives, pomegranates, bananas and oak. The scent of orange trees still welcomes visitors along the beaches. Gündogan has about 4 000 inhabitants.
Boat trips leave from here to secluded bays around the peninsula. You can catch a ferry to Didim on the other side of the bay and watch the seals and dolphins swimming along the boat.

Restaurants and cafés are among tangerines, olive and pine trees and even on bridges around the bay and offers traditional Turkish cuisine. Gündogan is also cheaper than other parts of the peninsula. Relax and take it easy with the local delicacies or a chilled glass of wine. There are large colorful cushions to sit on, the many bridges in the bay, you can relax, people watching, sip a refreshing drink.
